Party Animals
If the physical similarities weren’t enough between Chris & Daphne, I definitely think they have similar personalities. Daphne has decided that Friday nights are only for partying, not for sleeping (she did not get this from her homebody mother). For the past couple Friday nights she has been up from around 9PM to at least 4 or 5AM Saturday morning. I hope this is not what we have to look forward to as she becomes a teenager.
My other party animal/social butterfly, Chris, had a photo gig with the Jazz Hall of Fame downtown and shot their Taste of 4th Jazz Festival (check his Flickr account, he got some great shots) on Saturday. Of course this left me home alone with the baby, completely sleep deprived. Later in the afternoon she finally decided it was nap time (thank God), that’s when all hell broke loose in the Denbow household. As we were getting up from the nap I noticed this dark spot on the carpet. Thinking that our dog Allie probably tore something up I flipped on the bedroom light to see that the dark spot was actually blood. My eyes darted over to Allie who is covered in blood. She freaks out, runs under the bed, and I notice that her dog blanket is covered in blood, blood is spattered on the wall and there is a large pool of blood under the bed. Basically it looks like someone was murdered in my bedroom. At this point in my sleep deprived, slightly baby blues mind I’m really freaking out! Of course Allie is not coming out from under the bed. I’m afraid to touch her because she might bite me. So I frantically call Chris, who I later learned was on stage shooting an act, no answer. Allie finally leaves the safety of her under the bed lair and I get her to the basement. It appears her tail has been cut and there is a wound on her back leg. By the time Chris got home later that evening the bleeding had stopped. We still don’t know how she got cut. She must have been caught against the bed frame or something. As soon as Allie was cleaned up I handed off the baby to Chris and went to bed. Who needs to go out when you have all this excitement at home?!
