Memphis BBQ on Food Network
I was watching Everyday Italian on Food Network today and saw the promos for their new show, Down Home with the Neelys. Pat is the nephew of Jim Neely, owner of Interstate BBQ, and has his own restaurants in Memphis. Looks like a good show. The first episode on Feb 2nd will feature their rib recipe. We haven’t had much success cooking ribs at home, so I’m interested to see their technique.
Chris & I love Memphis BBQ. We are usually in Memphis at least 6 times a year and always stop to have ribs. We normally eat at Central BBQ and split a full slab. And you know the ribs are good when I order them. Because I don’t like my hands to get messy and I am not going to gnaw on a rib bone and wreck my makeup. With the exception of one visit to Central, we’ve always found their ribs to be divine and the meat peels right off the bone. It’s a no frills place near the Memphis Zoo. We never would have found Central BBQ without the help of Dallas Food Blog. If you like bbq and plan on being in Memphis definitely check out the 2 Memphis posts on Dallas Food. Very helpful.
