TGIF

April 18th, 2008

Today completely felt like a Saturday. Daphne & I had a leisurely morning, then watched movies (finally saw Juno). Chris was working from home. Later in the afternoon we went to Aldridge Gardens. Daphne was not in the mood for photos:

She did enjoy riding on Daddy’s shoulders:

We left Aldridge and went down the road to our favorite cheapo Mexican restaurant. I’ve never been a restaurant regular before, but we’ve been going to Amigo’s for about 4 years now and everyone knows us and fawns all over Daphne. One of our favorite waitresses, Victoria, tries her best to pronounce Daphne, but it always comes out “Baffaney.”  After quesadillas and margaritas we left for Babies R Us.  I find it’s always good to have a little alcohol in your system before going to BRU.  That place can be a madhouse and margaritas relax me.  Miss Daphne is pulling up on everything, and even walked a little while holding on to Chris last night, so we decided it was time to get our baby-proofing items.  We had already purchased a gate for the top of our stairs, but needed to pick up a stair rail guard, outlet covers, furniture wall straps.  And of course we also left with two books and a few toys (including My First Purse, too fricking cute!!).  After stops at Old Navy (Why must they make such cute clothes for little girls? Daphne is going to need a bigger closet.) and Publix we finally got home and are settling in to watch BSG.  I’m tired.

Interesting follow-up piece to your last blog! Haha, just kidding I am sure it is really hard not to spend all your money on fun things for Daphne. Her hair looks so good in those pictures almost if you flipped it up.

I know, I thought about that too, especially at Old Navy. I don’t get over to that side of town often so I had to stock up today!! It’s so hard not to buy for her. I mean, Chris has been bugging me to tell him what I want for our anniversary and the only thing I can come up with is a can opener. I really don’t want anything. I can think of a million different things I want to get for Daphne, though. Luckily with her Christmas haul we have only had to get her a few small toys.

I don’t know what is going on with her hair. It’s flipping out like mine.

Since you watche Juno, did you notice that the lawyer for the adoption in the movie was also played by the same actress who is Gunnery Sergeant Mathias on BSG?

No, I missed that. I’ll have to watch it again.

I really enjoyed Juno, but I don’t think I’m going to be able to see Michael Cera in AD without thinking “naked George Michael in a chair.” It’s going to take a bit to scrub that image out of my brain!!
